SUMMARY:

1.     Jesus at the Passover

·       John 13:12-17 – He washes the feet of his disciples.

·       Disciples are different than students. Students want to know what the teacher knows. Disciples want to be like their Rabbi

·       Jesus shows them what they should do to be like Him.

·       John 13:33-35, 36-38 – Love one another just as I have loved you

·       John 14:1-7 –Jesus tells them they know the way to where He is going.

·       John 14:6 – “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

2.     Jesus is the way to eternal life

·       Jesus is the way.

·       Jesus is truth.

i. John 1:14 – And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

·       Jesus is life.

i.     John 1:4 – In him was life, and the life was the light of men.

ii.     John 11:25 – Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.

3.     Jesus is the way to fulfillment in this life

·       Fulfillment in this life with Christ is not built on proving ourselves; it is built on the relationship of love that he has already proven on the cross and promised us in his Word.

·       John 14:8-14 – Whoever believes in me will do what I do and even greater.

4.     How do I discern the will of God in my life for 2021?

·       Walk daily in obedient relationship with the Lord led by the Holy Spirit.

·       John 14:15-16 – “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever.”

·       Abide in the vine.

i.     Jesus says I am the true vine. John 15:1-11

ii.     The branch depends on the vine for everything. Fruit naturally comes when abiding in the vine.
